Introduction

This WebSite was created as part of our 3rd year Group Project - 'Visual Turing Machine'. The main goal of the project was to create a simulation of a Turing Machine to aid students in their understanding of the 'Algorithms, Computability and Complexity' course taught in the second year. The program itself (written as a Java Applet) can be run directly from this web page from the section labelled "The Turing Machine".

This Site also contains extensive help on running and using the program, our own detailed explanation of the Turing Machine concept (extracted from the Course Notes which are available to download), a short Biography of Alan Turing and a brief description of the project. Each of these sections can be reached via the Jump Menu at the top of this page.
